Tanzania is situated in East Africa formerly known as Tanganyika until in ------ it changed its name to incorporate both Tanganyika and the island of Zanzibar. Tanzania’s official name is the United Republic of Tanzania.
- Tanzania has a population of roughly 28,783,000 people and covers a radius of 945,090 sq km. 25,950 of the population resides in Hai District, Kilimanjaro Region the area where Light In Africa is helping, and covers a radius of 2,200 Km. There are 21 Regions in Tanzania.
- Its official languages are KiSwahili and English.
- The government is Multi Party Republic
- Its main religions are Christian, Islam and traditional beliefs.
- The currency used is Tanzanian Shillings and the main exports of Tanzania are coffee, cotton, sisal and cloves.
