Nations Together Africa

Volunteer Packages

Every volunteer has different expectations and ideas of what volunteer service is. Some come on their own, some volunteer in small groups of 5 and some in large groups of 15+ people. Nations Together will spend time prior to your volunteer service discussing with you what it is you wish to achieve during you time and bring together a package which hopes to incorporate both opportunity for volunteering and experiencing the pleasures of Africa. Projects

here are a variety of projects available and tailor made plans will be set in place to meet your needs as much as possible. Here are just a few.

Light In Africa’s Tudor Village Children’s Homes

An estimation of £18,000 will build a four bed roomed house for 10 children and two staff. Please see LIA’s web site for more details on the village. It is imperative that a minimum of 20 houses are built as soon as possible so that the children can come out of rented accommodation. The Tudor Village is set on 11 acres of land situated between Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru.

Part funding of these houses can also be sponsored such as the roof, the windows, the electrics, the water connections etc.

Purchasing of medication for an Out Reach Medical Dispensary Day

Out reach Programs will take you out to provide much needed medication to the Chagga’s, Pari’s and Massai tribes living in remote villages many of who are unable to access government dispensaries because of the distance. Many elderly men and women and women in childbirth are victims of lack of local medical services. LIA’s service to the community offers a life line to those in need. TThe medication you buy for one day out reach will support between 150 and 250 patients. It’s a long, gruelling day but worth every moment

Painting or general maintance work with in LIA’s children’s homes.

A task that’s always needed. General up keep and maintance of each and every children’s home is never ending. Design and paint the kids bedrooms or living area, personalising them for the children.

Design and make children play areas inside or out

Always appreciated by the children is the creativity of volunteers. Use your imaginations and creative skills to build and produce exciting play and learning areas for the children.

Children’s Holidays

Take a group of children on a holiday to the coast to swim in the ocean and play in the sand. Or climb the Mountains with a group of older children. Go camping for the weekend - so many places to visit and enjoy with the children who love any holiday experience.

House builds for families living in poor housing.

Generally house builds will be for widows and her children
